Erin's name has been swirling around me in conversations for years but it wasn't until the CHA Mega Show in Anaheim this January that I had the opportunity to meet her. She is one of those people that you instantly like - a welcoming smile and an open personality that makes you want to find an quiet corner and just chat.
And she is an very talented artist? Yes, please! If she is taking applications for new friends, you want on the short list.
After spending time on Erin's blog, I discovered that she is also a great photographer. She takes amazing photos of her travels!
I asked Erin to answer our Spotlight Questions and she agreed:
A5: Where do you live?
EB: Sunny Southern CA
A5: What kinds of art do you do? What medium or craft did you start with?
EB: I do it all! I really enjoy mixed media but I'm also a craft junky so I crochet, sew, screenprint, scrapbooking, jewelry making....I could go on and on! -Thanks Grandma for teaching me crafty things as a kid!
A5: You are packing an art travel bag with your Top Five go-to items. Tell us what you choose.
EB: Hmmmm...1) Gelli Plate 2) Charcoal Pencil 3)Acrylic Paints 4) Faber-Castel Gelatos 5) Scissors
A5: What is your latest product discovery?
EB: Oh goodness, I can't even remember the last new artsy thing I bought, I try to use what I already have since that often spurs me on to create the things I need.
A5: Tell us about your work space.
EB: Discombobulated! We just moved and my current studio is full of boxes while we construct my workbench and storage. I can't wait until it's done...until then I'm using my handy dandy rolling cart for my go to supplies.
A5: What is one thing you MUST have when you create? (drink, snack, music, lighting, etc)
EB: Music or peace and quiet...no TV, it's too distracting. Water, coffee, or tea is always welcome too!
A5: What do you wish you were better at?
EB: Boy, I can think of a million things, but I'll go with drawing. I've gotten better with practice, but I still have a loooong way to go!
A5: What color(s) are you loving right now?
EB: Well, my favorite color is green, but I've been crushing on yellow a whole bunch lately.
A5: What is your favorite pen?
EB: Faber-Castel PITT pens
A5: Photograph your favorite pair of shoes.
EB: I'm in bare feet most of the time, but when I have to wear shoes they are usually these. Fancy, huh?!
We asked Erin to show us her take on this week's challenge - Cut up a magazine - add!
